Omnisis has donated £1,500 to support struggling families in some of the most deprived parts of northern England and beyond this Christmas.
The Manchester-based market research agency has, for the second consecutive Christmas, decided to donate to The Bread and Butter Thing charity instead of spending on gifts and cards for clients.
The Bread and Butter Thing is on a mission to “unleash the power of food” to create change in struggling neighbourhoods across the UK by bringing nutritious, affordable food to the most deprived communities.
Mark Game, CEO of the Bread and Butter Thing, said: “We’re sincerely grateful for the donation from Omnisis. Last year, it helped us keep our vans on the road, our warehouses powered and transported food to where it is needed most.
“Donations like this enable us to feed over 6,000 families every week – families that are making difficult choices between heating and eating. It has supported parents and carers put healthy nutritious meals on the table, brought communities together and helped combat social isolation. We couldn’t do it without you.”
Brian Cooper, Managing Director of Omnisis, said: “Life continues to grow more challenging for some families in our country and we can’t stand by and do nothing.
“We genuinely care about helping people who are struggling so, for the second consecutive year, we’ve decided to forego cards and gifts for our brilliant clients and instead donated what we would have spent to the Bread and Butter Thing.
“They do fantastic work throughout the country to help people get good quality, affordable food and we’re honoured to be in a position to support them and those who need a little extra help.”
The Bread and Butter Thing specialises in ensuring food surpluses are taken into the heart of communities starved of money, food and resources through its mobile food club, serving 70,000 members across the north of England.
The charity puts together a low-cost weekly shop which provides essential produce for family eating – fresh fruit and veg, fridge favourites and cupboard staples.
