This month in the spotlight is our brilliant Data Analyst, Mo.
This time last year, we opened up an office in London to help support Mo's dream of becoming a yoga instructor alongside his work in market research and to be closer to his family and friends who live in London.
You can read all about his adventures here.
What brought you into the world of market research?
Long story short….I’ve always wanted to help people, but I also really like numbers. So when I was younger I wanted to be a chef, a nurse, a kinesitherapist OR I wanted to do something with numbers… I couldn’t seem to find an in-between.
I went to Université Pierre Mendès France in Grenoble and obtained a Bachelor in science, specifically in market research. It was there that I learned data processing but also how to script surveys.
Try to understand or predict what people think has always fascinated me. So in a way, I see working in market research as a way to help people to get what they want -or make them think that’s what they need..but that’s another topic entirely!
If you were stuck on a desert island and you could bring three people to join you, dead or alive, real or fictitious, who would you pick?
My first two choices would be Timon and Pumbaa. Because …
Hakuna Matata! What a wonderful phrase.
Hakuna Matata! Ain't no passing craze.
It means no worries... for the rest of your days
It's our problem-free philosophy. Hakuna Matata!
I’d never have a dull moment with those two around. For my final choice, I’d pick Bear Grylls. He would be helpful when it comes to learning how to survive.
Describe your ideal weekend
Savasana (otherwise known as Corpse Pose) is the last posture of a yoga class and in my opinion, the most difficult.
You have to lay down on your back, close your eyes and…do and think about absolutely nothing… which sounds much easier said than done!
Doing nothing is my ideal weekend really - doing nothing and maybe visiting some friends.
Favourite film, book and podcast?
My favourite film has to be Into the Wild from Sean Penn - if you haven’t seen it, I’d definitely recommend giving it a watch.
My favourite podcast is the Joe Rogan Experience.
And lastly, my favourite book is Siddharta by Hermann Hesse. It’s a book about spirituality that follows the journey of an Indian man called Siddharta during the time of the Gautama Buddha.
